Cleveland Guardians center fielder Lane Thomas had to make a recent visit to the injured list, in addition to the one he made earlier in the season to recover from a bone bruise in his right wrist.
The last one was because of a battle with plantar fasciitis.
He was activated just a couple of days ago after a brief absence.
It sounds like he needed the short break to get his foot right.
Usually, these injuries linger for a few weeks or months, and if you don’t believe us, ask Brandon Nimmo of the New York Mets.
Thomas, however, suggested that he is no longer feeling any pain or discomfort.
“After returning from the IL this week, Lane Thomas (who dealt with plantar fasciitis) said, “It’s nice being able to run and play good defense and run the bases without hesitating,” Tim Stebbins, who covers the team for MLB.com, wrote on X.

Thomas was able to make that smooth sliding catch shown in the video to retire Elly De La Cruz.
A couple of weeks ago, he probably wouldn’t have completed that play because of the discomfort.
Cleveland now hopes that since he appears to be close to 100 percent health-wise, he can resemble the player he was in the stretch run last year or in the playoffs, where he hit two homers and had a few timely hits in addition to that.
The pending free agent homered on Wednesday to lead the Guardians’ win against Cincinnati, going 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBI.
He is now hitting .164/.227/.224 and could be about to go on a tear.
