Jose Ramirez is not only one of the best players in the league right now: he is also one of the best players in Cleveland Guardians history.
That’s certainly a lot of praise, but the numbers are there to back his case.
The perennial MVP candidate is ready to keep climbing in some specific statistical categories in franchise history.
“José Ramírez CLE Franchise Rankings: 216 HR (T-5th), 325 Doubles (6th), 784 Runs Scored (11th), 202 Stolen Bases (7th), 746 RBI (12th), 546 Walks (15th), 38 Triples (T-32nd),” Cleveland Stats tweeted.

Ramirez could retire today and he would already be one of the top players in franchise history, and a surefire member of the Guardians Hall of Fame.
At 216 home runs, he is fifth behind Earl Averill (226), Manny Ramirez (236), Albert Belle (242), and Jim Thome (337).
If he hits between 25 and 30, he could finish the year in third or second place in franchise history.
He would need 42 doubles to tie Lou Boudreau in fifth place, but is just five steals away from Elmer Flick for sixth place in franchise history in the stolen bases department,
Sometimes, we don’t really understand how important J-Ram is for the Guardians as a franchise, not just the current roster.
When he retires, he could be a top-three or top-five player in many of these statistical categories.
He is, in addition to an on-the-field star, the heart and soul of the team and a leader in the community.
Ramirez is one of the best things that has happened to the Guardians in a long time.
