Jose Ramirez has never been shy about showing love for Cleveland.
Ramirez has dealt with plenty this season on the health side, missing roughly a month while recovering from surgery on his left hand and working his way back into form during the stretch run. Through all of it, he has continued to reach milestones that matter, including becoming just the second player in franchise history to record 1,000 career RBI. Sitting down with Andre Knott, Ramirez was asked how it feels to have Cleveland fans stick behind him through a difficult year physically.
Ramirez did not hesitate with his answer.

It is not the first time he has said something along those lines, and that repetition is part of what makes it special. Ramirez made clear this is not a compliment he is giving just for the cameras. It is something he genuinely believes and has repeated consistently throughout his career in Cleveland, a city that has embraced him as much as he has embraced it.
Managing a surgically repaired hand while still trying to contribute to a playoff push is not easy, and there were stretches where Ramirez was simply unavailable to help his team on the field. Fans stayed patient anyway, and based on how he responded to Knott’s question, that patience did not go unnoticed.
It also fits the way Ramirez has talked about his role on this roster all season. He has consistently pointed to gratitude, both for the opportunity to keep playing at a high level and for the people who show up to support him.
With Cleveland fighting for a third straight AL Central title down the stretch, moments like this carry extra meaning. Ramirez has given plenty back to this fan base over the years in the form of production and milestones. This week, he made sure they knew the feeling runs both ways.
