The Cleveland Guardians couldn’t close out the season in the way they hoped for.
However, given the way Jose Ramirez played, he still deserves plenty of credit.
With that in mind, it’s not much of a surprise to see him being a finalist for the Hank Aaron Award.
José Ramírez has been named a finalist for the 2025 Hank Aaron Award which is given to the most outstanding regular season offensive performer in each League.

This distinction is given to the most outstanding regular-season performer in both leagues, and Ramirez is one of the 10 finalists for the American League.
Fans will have until Sunday, October 11, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time to vote for the Guardians’ superstar.
Ramirez continues to age like a fine wine, and he had another incredible season for Stephen Vogt’s team.
He posted a .283 batting average with 85 RBI, 30 home runs, and a career-high 44 stolen bases.
With his 34 doubles, he became the very first player in MLB history to record consecutive seasons with at least 30 home runs, 30 doubles, and 40 stolen bases.
He’s also one of just four players in MLB history with at least 30 homers and 40 swiped bags, joining a very exclusive club with the likes of Alfonso Soriano, Barry Bonds, and Bobby Bonds.
Ramirez keeps on climbing the ladder and the all-time rankings in Guardians’ history.
He logged his 1,000th career run and became the Guardians’ all-time leader in extra-base hits (726).
If he continues this pace, he has a big chance to go down not only as the leader in most offensive categories, but also as the single greatest player in franchise history.
And while he’ll face some steep competition for the award, he’s certainly more than deserving of it.
