The Cleveland Guardians have the best third baseman in the game.
Jose Ramirez continues to make history with every at-bat, and he’s currently sitting atop a very interesting list.
As pointed out by Just Baseball on X, the Dominican superstar just joined Aaron Judge as the only two hitters in the American League with a batting average of at least .300 and an OPS of at least .900.

Judge is often widely recognized as the best player in the American League, and while he’s certainly done more than enough to get that distinction, Ramirez’s numbers are always quite similar.
It feels like he doesn’t get the credit and recognition he so clearly deserves because he plays for a small-market team.
Ramirez is having one of the best seasons of his career, once again raking baseballs at a high clip while being a massive threat around the bases because of his speed and quick first step as a perennial threat to steal.
The Guardians are still right in the mix for a playoff spot, and while losing Emmanuel Clase potentially for the season was clearly a huge blow, they will always have a chance as long as Ramirez is out there and healthy.
He’s the type of competitor who would rather retire ringless instead of chasing glory somewhere else, and this team will only go as far as he can take them.
Who knows? If he keeps this up, he might finally get the MVP-type recognition he deserves.
