The Cleveland Guardians have been up and down this season.
But regardless of how they’ve fared, Jose Ramirez has always given them top-notch play.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see him lead all third basemen in a significant stat.
As posted by Just Baseball on X, Ramirez has the highest fWAR among all players at his position (5.1).
Among position leaders, he trails only right fielder Aaron Judge (7.1), catcher Cal Raleigh (6.3), pitcher Tarik Skubal (5.7) and center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong (5.6).

Ramirez doesn’t seem to get enough credit nationally, which is a bit of a curse for small-market players, especially those who aren’t outspoken.
Yet, he’s been one of the best players in the game for years, and his numbers need context to explain his impact.
He’s the only player in the American League besides Judge to have a batting average around .300 and an OPS over .900.
Those are not empty numbers. He’s making winning plays to keep the Guardians afloat in the AL Wild Card race.
More importantly, Ramirez is peaking at the right time.
Entering Monday, he was slashing .344/.452/.689 with an OPS of 1.141, with four home runs, nine doubles and one triple since the All-Star break.
The Guardians are still in the playoff mix, and that wouldn’t have been possible without their superstar.
