The 2022 MLB All-Star Game, to be played on July 19 in Los Angeles, is still in the player selection phase.
Fans all over the world are voting to see their favorite players represent their teams in the game.
Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers had been leading all American League third basemen in votes, but Cleveland Guardians slugger Jose Ramirez has something to say about that.
Well, not himself: fans who have voted.
“#ClevelandRox is back, y’all. Great news: José is currently holding the top spot at 3B. Bad news: Andrés is sitting in third, despite having the best numbers among AL 2B. We also have a duty to get our buddies in Colorado, CJ Cron and José Iglesias, to LA next month! Vote!” the Guardians’ Twitter account wrote.

They are teaming up with the Colorado Rockies to promote both teams’ biggest stars.
Devers is a phenomenal player, but Ramirez is clearly deserving of being the AL’s starter at third base.
The Leading Vote-Getter At Third Base
As of Monday afternoon, and according to the Guardians’ Twitter account, J-Ram has 1,219,704 votes, slightly edging Devers’ 1,185,906.
There is still time to vote.
Ramirez has an incredible .303/.388/.618 line with 16 home runs, 11 stolen bases, and some terrific defense at one of the infield’s hardest positions.
His OPS is a fantastic 1.006 and he has 63 RBI in 66 games: almost one per game!
He recently missed a couple of games with a thumb injury, but has already returned with a bang: he went 3-for-4 on Sunday, with two doubles.
A healthy Ramirez deserves to be the starter at third base in the Midsummer Classic, and is in consideration for the MVP award in the junior circuit.
