All-Star week got started last night with the T-Mobile Home Run Derby at Dodger Stadium.
Eight of the game’s best sluggers competed in front of thousands of excited fans.
At the end of the night, it was Juan Soto who came away victorious, but that doesn’t mean that any of his opponents didn’t have a blast as well.
The first player he beat, Jose Ramirez, had quite the fan club in attendance, as several of his Cleveland Guardians teammates watched as he hit some blasts in the first round.
The Guardians tweeted a video of some of Ramirez’s teammates having fun while they watched him go yard.

J-Ram’s Fan Club
It’s always nice to have a fan club at the Derby, whether you win or lose.
Ramirez certainly had a good group of guys out there supporting him.
Two of them, Andres Gimenez and Emmanuel Clase, were fellow All-Stars.
Ramirez hit 17 home runs in the first round of the Derby.
Of course, he was beat out by Soto, who ultimately won the whole thing, but he put up a good fight and had the full support of his brothers as he swung for the fences.
This is what makes baseball so great.
It’s a game of competition and discipline for sure, but there’s also that lighter side that comes with it and the brotherhood and friendship that players have.
Ramirez’s teammates got excited every time he hit a home run and were disappointed when things didn’t go his way, but they came out in full force to support their brother and teammate on what turned out to be an epic night full of homers.
