The Cleveland Guardians had a rollercoaster of a season in 2025. It was quite an emotional ride, and cardiac patients certainly won’t appreciate that.
However, while there were some tough moments, the Guardians also had their fair share of positive times. That was also the case in the final game of the season.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see that Brayan Rocchio’s 10th-inning walk-off home run made the cut of one of the top plays of the 2025 season. It was ranked No. 13.

Rocchio’s blast helped the Guardians clinch the AL Central division in the very final game of the regular season. Also, the fact that it came from someone who isn’t necessarily known for his power only made it all the more iconic.
The Guardians were the hottest team in all of baseball in the second half of the regular season. They looked like a team that had no chance of making the playoffs by June, but then rallied from behind to come all the way back from a 15.5-game deficit, the largest any team has had to overcome to win the divisional pennant in MLB history.
Unfortunately, that momentum didn’t carry over to the playoffs. Ultimately, their offensive shortcomings were just too much to overcome, and the Guardians fell to the very same team they had just beaten for the divisional pennant.
Still, this season will be something to build from. They clearly have the right manager, and they just need to tweak a couple of pieces to get the job done.
