Cleveland Guardians fans can get their first look at what their 2026 team might look like when they open their spring training schedule. In fact, they can get two looks as the club takes the initial steps of the campaign.
On Saturday, the Guardians have split-squad games against the Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers.
They both begin a little after 3 p.m. Eastern time.

These games, and the ones that follow, could be more interesting than the typical spring training action. The team has some top prospects looking to make the team, and it also has some lineup questions to figure out.
Among the prospects, these games could provide a look at Travis Bazzana, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. His debut has been delayed by a series of oblique injuries in the minor leagues, so manager Stephen Vogt said he plans to give the rookie a good look at second base before he plays for Australia in the World Baseball Classic.
In addition, Chase DeLauter is at camp after becoming one of the few players in history to make his MLB debut in a postseason game. He will be competing for a starting job in the outfield, and it could come at any of those positions.
That’s because Gold Glove left fielder Steven Kwan could take over as the Guardians’ center fielder. Seeing how the All-Star adapts to a new position is another spring training storyline worth following.
Then there is the starting rotation, which may have six pitchers competing for five spots to begin the year. Gavin Williams will be trying to establish himself as one of the best pitchers in the American League, while Parker Messick will try to hold on to a spot after his breakout performance during the pennant race last season.
Those are just some of the things to keep an eye on as the games begin, with other items sure to pop up as the schedule moves along.
