Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect Jaison Chourio was having an incredible season until he broke his wrist in late August.
The brother of Milwaukee Brewers star Jackson Chourio, Jaison might not have the same kind of power, but he has excellent plate discipline and incredible speed.
He put those skills on display over the entire 2024 season until his injury.
Just a few weeks after sustaining the fracture, Chourio is already swinging a bat, which bodes extremely well for his 2025 outlook.
“Cleveland #Guardians 19yr old switch hitting OF prospect Jaison Chourio already back to swinging a bat after suffering a fractured left wrist back on 8/26/24 diving for a ball in CF with (Low-A) Lynchburg. Chourio during the 2024 season collected 31 XBH, 44 SB, 86 walks posting a .414 OBP with a 144 wRC+ over 98 games played,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

That 144 speaks wonders about his offensive ability despite his relatively small frame.
Chourio produced 44 percent more than the average hitter in his league, which is amazing.
Having a young prospect which advanced knowledge of the strike zone is always a plus, and the Guardians are excited about his future.
It might take Chourio a while to make the big leagues (around two seasons depending on how he handles the upper levels), but everything is in place for the Guardians to test him in High-A next year.
Who knows, maybe Jaison ends up being the better Chourio.
Considering how gifted Jackson is, that would be a dream scenario for Cleveland.
Even if he isn’t, his skillet should ensure a major league role for him one day.
