The Cleveland Guardians need as much help as they can get right now.
Their offense has been inconsistent, to say the least, with only Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Carlos Santana being regular contributors.
The issue is particularly worrisome in the outfield.
That’s why they might want to give one of their elite prospects a chance to prove his worth.
As shown by Guardians Prospective on X, 23-year-old 1B/OF C.J. Kayfus turned some heads with a triple for Triple-A Columbus.
He recorded his seventh triple and 24th extra-base hit of the season.

MLB Pipeline ranked Kayfus as the Guardians’ No. 5 prospect, and he’s been the team’s most consistent and impressive minor leaguer so far, even more than Travis Bazzana and Chase DeLauter, both of whom have missed time due to injuries.
The Guardians took Kayfus in the third round of the 2023 MLB Draft after a dominant three-year stint at the University of Miami.
He spent last season in High-A and Double-A, and he began this season in Double-A before proving that he was just wasting his time there.
In 30 games since his promotion, he’s slashed .316/.388/.544 with five home runs and 16 RBI.
The Guardians already have him on their 40-man roster, so it’s not crazy to think that he could be called up at some point in the season, especially considering how badly this team has struggled to get some offensive production.
He’s still not the phenom that DeLauter is projected to be, but given his long history of injuries, it might make sense for the Guardians to give him more time to heal and get ready for the Majors.
