The 2022 MLB All-Star Game will be played in Los Angeles on July 19.
So far, all we know about the rosters is that Aaron Judge will start in the American League outfield, and Ronald Acuna Jr. will do the same in the National League’s.
We are currently in phase 2 of the fan voting: there are two finalists at each position, competing to be the starters.
Cleveland Guardians infielder Jose Ramirez is going toe to toe with fellow hot-corner star Rafael Devers of the Boston Red Sox.
It’s really a heavyweight matchup between, quite likely, two of the top-five third basemen in all MLB.
The Guardians, of course, are doing everything in their power to promote Ramirez’s candidacy.
You know what you've gotta do …

Ramirez has accumulated enough merits to start, hitting .289/.374/.577 with 16 home runs, 48 runs, a league-leading 63 RBI, and even 12 stolen bases.
Ramirez Gets The Defensive Edge
That, and some really strong defense at his position.
But Devers has been just as good.
The Red Sox’s slugger is hitting .327/.383/.579 with 17 round-trippers, 57 runs, and 46 RBI.
The runs, and especially the batting average, are really impressive.
In any case, their offensive contributions are very much comparable.
However, while Devers has improved defensively, Ramirez remains the superior fielder and the better baserunner.
He is more complete as a player.
The two stars are so close in talent and performance that it almost seems unfair that one of them won’t be starting the All-Star Game for the American League.
But the rules are the rules, and they can’t both start.
Whoever wins the vote will be a more than deserving candidate.
Guardians fans have a prime chance to make Ramirez an All-Star Game starter with the power of their vote.
