The Cleveland Guardians are slumping badly, falling below .500 for the first time since April 9.
They scored six runs against the St. Louis Cardinals, a rare occurrence for one of the worst-hitting squads in the league, yet still lost.
Many fans are clamoring for outfield prospect Chase DeLauter to be called up to the majors, as he can certainly help produce more runs.
The organization would like him to feel more comfortable playing five or six times per week before making that move, but it will happen eventually.
Meanwhile, DeLauter keeps tearing up Triple-A.
He hit his fourth home run of the season in Columbus, sixth overall, including two in the Arizona Complex League as part of his rehab assignment.
Perhaps more importantly, he extended his on-base streak with the Clippers to 25 games.
“Chase DeLauter with a lead-off jack. The Guardians’ No. 5 prospect tallies his fourth Triple-A homer of the season. He’s reached base safely in ALL 25 games with the Columbus Clippers,” Baseball America posted on X, with a video of his home run.

DeLauter is putting up some impressive stats in Triple-A, certifying his status as one of the top position player prospects in the game and letting people know he is ready for prime time.
He is slashing a robust .311/.427/.522 with a 155 wRC+ and more walks (19) than strikeouts (14) in Columbus.
He is excelling in the departments of plate discipline, contact and power.
As soon as the Guardians think he is ready to play a full week of MLB games, they will make the call.
