The Cleveland Guardians lost a close game on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
It wasn’t Jose Ramirez’s fault, though: as it usually happens, he did everything in his power to help his team win.
To say he has been the most influential Guardians of the last eight to ten years would be an understatement.
He plays with passion and fire, and that’s why fans absolutely love him.
Of course, it helps that he consistently puts up huge numbers; stats that many people underrate just because he doesn’t play in New York or Los Angeles.
He is 31 years old, still in his prime, and he continues to rank among the league’s best in many categories.
He is on pace to shatter some of his personal bests across the board, according to High Heat.
“Jose Ramírez is 31 and on pace for career highs in homers, RBI, stolen bases, and more. He’s a near lock for his second career 30/30 season. He’s going to pass 50 career WAR this season. What a superstar,” they tweeted.

Ramirez’s career-high in homers in 39, established in 2018.
He currently has 29 and is on pace to reach 40 for the first time as a major leaguer.
That is no small feat.
He also drove in 126 runs in 2022, but since he is already up to 94, there is a chance he establishes a new career-high there, too.
In addition to his 29 home runs, he also has 24 stolen bases: you could say the chances of Ramirez logging his second career 30-30 campaign are very high.
He is doing all this by posting a rock-solid .879 OPS.
He hasn’t shown his age one bit: to the contrary, like fine wine, he gets better with time.
