Third baseman Jose Ramirez has ascended from promising youngster to complementary piece to underrated star to face of the Cleveland Guardians franchise in a span of a few years.
He did it with hard work, discipline, and above all things, love and passion for the game of baseball.
A player who doesn’t love baseball wouldn’t be able to accomplish everything Ramirez has.
He has a small build, but that hasn’t stopped him from hitting 216 career homers at age 31.
He also has stolen 202 bases and flies through the bases if needed.
Many have written him off as a product of fluke over the years, and he keeps competing for the MVP award year after year.
Now, he is in the race for another cool award, one that represents what he is on the field: heart and hustle.
The Guardians Twitter account advocated for the franchise’s star player, in an expected move.
No one has more heart or hustle than the 🐐, Cleveland.

Ramirez plays the game with passion and energy, like it’s intended.
He also gives his all every day, and stays committed to helping the communities in Cleveland and in his native Dominican Republic.
On and off the field, he is a star and a true winner.
