The Cleveland Guardians don’t have many glaring needs that need to be patched up this offseason when it comes to roster construction since the entire lineup is under contract for 2025, but there are a few open spots in the starting rotation as long as Shane Bieber, Carlos Carrasco, and Alex Cobb are free agents.
Cleveland is reportedly already hard at work fixing the pitching staff and has signed its one veteran reliever to a minor-league deal.
Guardians Prospective shared on X that the team has signed 29-year-old left-handed pitcher Parker Mushinski to a minor-league deal for 2025 that includes an invite to Spring Training.
Cleveland #Guardians have signed 29-year-old LHP Parker Mushinski to a minor league contract for the 2025 season with an invite to MLB spring training.
Mushinski had spent his entire professional career with Houston since being drafted by the Astros back in 2017.

Mushinski had spent his entire 7-year MLB career in the Houston Astros organization and has turned in a 5.45 career ERA across 33 innings.
He has yet to prove himself at the major-league level albeit in a small sample size, but Mushinski has a strong track record in triple-A with a 3.68 ERA across parts of four seasons in the Pacific Coast League.
Cleveland arguably has the best bullpen in baseball, but it does skew a bit heavy on the righties, so adding a potential left-handed specialist could go a long way toward fortifying this unit.
The Guardians weren’t in need of bullpen help, but it’s always a wise move to take a shot on a potential high-upside bullpen piece that won’t cost the team much money.
The starting rotation is still the main priority this offseason, as is potentially making a trade for at least one impact bat, so we’ll see what this front office does next.
