The Cleveland Guardians are entering September with a 0.5-game lead in the race for the third and final Wild Card spot in the American League. They are also three games behind the Chicago White Sox for the AL Central, so they could, theoretically, still win the divisional crown.
The Guardians have gone through a lot in August. First, they opened the month with a 5-11 record, and then won eight of their last 10 games since August 20. They are peaking at the right time, but they know the room for error is virtually non-existent. If they slip, the Baltimore Orioles, the Texas Rangers, and other AL teams are ready to pounce.
To keep everyone involved, excited, and committed to the cause, the Guardians released a cool hype video ahead of the start of the new month and series. They will be facing the Toronto Blue Jays at home, starting at 6:40 pm ET.

In the video, we can see how the team highlights superstar Jose Ramirez, who seems to be turning a corner after hitting his first home run since June in Sunday’s win. Other prominent players are featured, such as the red-hot Steven Kwan, newcomer Jo Adell, aces Parker Messick and Gavin Williams, and more.
This squad is capable of special things, and seems to be peaking at the right time, just like last year. Ramirez finally seems closer to his best version, and that’s dangerous for the rest of the league. The same can be said about Kwan, and Adell has added some much-needed thump against lefties and a clutch bat with runners in scoring position.
The rotation is one of the best in the league, with Messick and Williams leading the way and Tanner Bibee, Joey Cantillo, and Foster Griffin all pitching well. The bullpen is also solid, and they are led by two-time AL Manager of the Year Stephen Vogt.
The ingredients are there for the Guardians to put on a show in September. This is the best the offense has looked in a while, and with their excellent pitching staff, they can definitely go places.
