The Cleveland Guardians have made a big-time announcement.
CC Sabathia, who broke into the league in 2001 with the team and stayed there until he was traded in 2008, has been announced as the newest member of the Guardians Hall of Fame.
He will be inducted to the Guards’ Hall on August 3, per the team.
“The road to Cooperstown started in Cleveland and circles back through The Land as we introduce CC Sabathia as the 48th member of the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame. We’ll see you for induction day on August 3rd, @CC_Sabathia!” they tweeted.

Sabathia was one of the faces of the team in the early 2000s, after the successful 1990s decade and before the productive 2010s.
He was highly successful in Cleveland, maturing from a wild fireballer into an ace with top command.
In The Land, he went to three All-Star Games and won the 2007 AL Cy Young award.
He left a very solid 3.83 ERA during his time in Cleveland, but was particularly solid in the 2006-08 period with a 3.03 ERA.
All things considered, Sabathia left a mark in Cleveland and is very much deserving of this honor.
The Guardians fanbase has fond memories of Sabathia, from when he was a young, inexperienced and wild thrower in the early 2000s to where he became a pitcher, a workhorse, and the ace of a budding franchise.
All eyes will be on Cleveland for that August 3 ceremony, and Sabathia will surely address the fans that cheered for him for almost a decade.
