The Cleveland Guardians, as are all MLB teams, are less than two weeks away from watching pitchers and catchers report to spring training.
Baseball season is getting closer and closer.
The Guardians might not be done making moves to improve their roster, but the season is inching closer and between recent low-risk, high-upside moves and their own minor leagues, they might have a few in-house solutions if they can’t bring in another bat or two.
In any case, the season, nor spring training, are quite here yet, so it’s time to get creative.
Groundhog Day took place on Friday, and the Guardians sure paid homage to Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog with nationwide fame.
They used him in a picture that will certainly excite Guardians fans: a preview for the home opener.
“Even if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow today, he still can’t wait to get back to The Corner. Only 66 days until the Home Opener!” the official Guardians account tweeted.

While this fun message will get fans excited, the home opener has even more importance this year as it will fall during a total solar eclipse.
That’s the reason why the team still hasn’t been able to publish an official start time for the game: there is a logistics nightmare to solve.
In any case, the city of Cleveland is excited about what’s to come this season.
It will probably feature fun prospects like Brayan Rocchio, Johnathan Rodriguez, and Gavin Williams being featured in important roles, and stars such as Jose Ramirez, Andres Gimenez, and the Naylor brothers sustaining the offense.
