The Cleveland Guardians have, as of Friday, a 9-3 record.
That’s enough to lead the AL Central, just ahead of the 9-4 Kansas City Royals.
The Guards were set to start a crucial three-game series with the only team in the American League with a better record: the New York Yankees.
Friday’s game was rained out, and now they will play a doubleheader on Saturday plus one game on Sunday.
One of the two squads will be removed from FOX Sports: MLB’s most recent list: teams who are yet to lose a series this year.

The Guardians and the Yankees are, in fact, the only ones to win all their series, as both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers tied a two-game set.
Since they can’t tie a three-game set, one between the Guardians and Yankees will lose the flawless mark.
In any case, the Guardians’ presence in this group shows how steady they have been to open the year.
They also have the second-best run differential in baseball at +35.
They were tops in the league in that category before the Royals blasted the Houston Astros and took the lead with a +39 mark.
But back to the Guardians: so far, all their units have been extremely competitive.
Even the much criticized lineup ranks ninth in runs scored with 69 as of Friday afternoon.
The pitching has been magnificent, even in the games after Shane Bieber was lost for the season, and the relief corps have been outstanding.
Cleveland still has a lot to prove, but they have been excellent at the dawn of the season and nobody can deny it.
