For MLB teams, schedule announcements mark an important milestone that shapes everything from roster construction to fan engagement.
The Cleveland Guardians began mapping out their 2026 campaign with the release of their regular-season schedule.
The reveal came at a time when the Guardians were competing for attention amid bigger sports headlines.
“Thanks a lot, Taylor Swift. Now no one cares that next year’s schedule is out,” the Guardians said in their announcement.

The playful joke referenced Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which dominated headlines and social media throughout the day.
Cleveland will face an immediate test to start next season with a challenging seven-game road trip.
The Guardians open March 26 against the Seattle Mariners before traveling to face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Progressive Field will host the home opener on April 3 when the Chicago Cubs visit.
This marks just the second time in franchise history that an NL team will be the opponent in the season opener.
The schedule features several notable homestands.
The Boston Red Sox visit May 29-31, followed by a series against the Detroit Tigers from June 12-14 and the Chicago White Sox from July 2-5.
Cleveland’s slate includes opponents from the National League.
The Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants will play at Progressive Field.
The longest homestand spans 10 games from June 26 through July 5.
Cleveland will also navigate its most difficult stretch during a nine-game road trip from June 16-24 that includes the Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros and White Sox.
