Stand for The Land.
That is the Cleveland Guardians’ motto for the 2024 season, and that is the intention ahead of Monday’s home opener at Progressive Field against the Chicago White Sox.
In a peculiar day for the city of Cleveland with the total solar eclipse taking over the afternoon, the Guardians will take on the White Sox starting from 5:10 p.m. ET.
The team posted a cool hype video ahead of the clash.
“We’re here, Cleveland,” the club wrote as the caption.

In the video, an aerial view of the city of Cleveland is shown, and some of the best players on the team are shown doing what they do best: playing baseball.
Josh Naylor, Jose Ramirez, Triston McKenzie, Tanner Bibee, Andres Gimenez, and other Guardians stars appear in the short, but meaningful clip.
Fans are expected to fill the entire stadium ahead of the game, particularly because the team is giving them a reason to stay engaged.
The Guards played their first nine games of the 2024 campaign on the road, and they won seven of them.
As of Monday afternoon, they are first in the AL Central division ahead of the 6-3 Detroit Tigers.
They did suffer a tough blow this past weekend when it was revealed Shane Bieber will go under the knife and miss the entire season, but that doesn’t mean Cleveland can’t contend.
To the contrary: they have the tools to be competitive and surprise more than a few people in 2024.
For the first time this year, however, their fans will get the chance to watch the team live, in Cleveland.
It’s a good day in Ohio.
