The Cleveland Guardians won 14 of 26 games in July.
They’ve won seven of eight now in August, and they’ve been the hottest team in all of baseball by a significant margin.
As pointed out by Major League Baseball on X, the Guardians have the best record in the league since July 7, going 21-7 during that span.

The Guardians have finally woken up at the plate.
They struggled mightily to find any sort of momentum on offense earlier in the season, especially in June, when they went 9-16 and had a .206 batting average.
Through eight games in August, the Guardians already have half of the RBI (36) they had in the entire month of June (70).
We’re talking about a team that’s trending in the right direction and peaking at the right time, and that’s despite having their two best hitters struggling at the plate.
Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan have combined to go 8-for-43 with just one extra-base hit during their five-game winning streak, and everybody knows they’re not going to be that cold for much longer.
Some are worried about Emmanuel Clase’s situation, as it’s highly unlikely that they will get their superstar closer back this season – maybe at all – because of his involvement in a sports gambling investigation.
That’s a valid concern, but so far, so good without him.
The Guardians continue to close the gap between them and the final Wild Card spot, and with an easy schedule ahead of them, they should continue to be right there in the mix to punch their postseason ticket.
