Cleveland Guardians top prospect Chase DeLauter continues to impress in Triple-A Columbus.
After taking a little while to get going following his return from sports hernia surgery, the sweet-swinging outfielder cannot be stopped in the minor leagues.
On Wednesday, he hit a two-run homer, his second of the season in Columbus.
That game had to be completed on Thursday after a long delay.
Then, in the Clippers’ regular Thursday game, he also went yard to reach three home runs in Triple-A and five in his rehab assignment as a whole.

Recently, we had pointed out that DeLauter was starting to heat up in recent games as he got his feet under him following a long layoff, but the only thing missing for him was power.
Well, it appears he heard that complaint loud and clear, as he also added a double to his Thursday’s tally, in the continuation of the suspended game.
DeLauter wrapped up his day with a .290 batting average and a .903 OPS.
Guardians Prospective, who thoroughly follows the team’s prospects and minor league system, said DeLauter is the best outfield prospect in franchise history since an exciting name that those who grew up watching the 2000s Indians will remember.
“DeLauter (is the) Guardians best OF prospect since Grady Sizemore…. massive upside if he can stay healthy,” he posted on X.

Sizemore, back in the day, was a tantalizing five-tool prospect who went on to have some incredible seasons but was heavily affected by injuries.
So far, DeLauter can say the same: he oozes talent but is prone to physical ailments, forcing him to miss multiple games every year.
If he can stay in one piece, DeLauter’s potential is something to behold.
He could become an All-Star one day.
