The Cleveland Guardians’ need for offense is not a secret for anybody.
They are capable of scoring plenty of runs in a game and then look like minor leaguers for a whole week.
The most baffling thing about the situation is that Cleveland appears to have some of the solutions to their offensive woes inside the organization, which is something that not all contenders can say.
They have Chase DeLauter catching fire in Triple-A, and they have Juan Brito closing in on a return from a thumb injury.
Additionally, they also have C.J. Kayfus, an underrated prospect who has proven he is an extra-base hit machine.
Kayfus, on Friday, homered against the best pitcher he has faced: rehabbing star Max Scherzer.
“Top 100 prospect C.J. Kayfus (@CleGuardians) takes 3-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer WAY out at Triple-A. 425 ft | 105.9 mph,” MLB Pipeline posted on X.

Scherzer is a three-time Cy Young Award winner, but Kayfus forgot about that for just a second and sent a ball to the moon against him.
All you need to do to understand that Kayfus can help the struggling Guardians is look at that video.
His smooth swing results in easy power against one of the most talented pitchers of our generation.
That’s exactly what Cleveland needs: power.
In all of its forms and shapes.
Kayfus is very much capable of providing it.
He now boasts an insane 168 wRC+ and eight home runs this year between Double-A and Triple-A.
He has logged an impressive 27 extra-base hits between the two upper-minors levels: 12 doubles, seven triples, and eight blasts.
He is more than deserving of a chance in the majors.
