Cleveland has been patient with Cooper Ingle’s development, and that patience appears ready to pay off as the young prospect gets his shot at the major league level. The 24-year-old has spent the better part of three seasons climbing through the farm system, steadily improving his power numbers while never sacrificing the plate discipline that has defined his game since his days at Clemson. Now, with the Guardians set to open a series against Seattle, Ingle is finally getting the call he has been working toward.
“Cleveland Guardians are promoting 24-year-old (C) prospect Cooper Ingle before the Seattle Mariners series starts at home Friday night,” Guardians Prospective posted.

Ingle has done nothing but produce in Triple-A Columbus this season, slashing well above .280 with 12 home runs in just 51 games, a power surge that has come alongside the same disciplined approach that made him a fourth-round pick out of Clemson in 2023. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, the left-handed hitting catcher has consistently posted more walks than strikeouts at every stop in his professional career, a rare trait that has steadily pushed him up prospect rankings throughout the system.
The timing of the call-up speaks to how valuable Ingle’s versatility has become. With Patrick Bailey and Austin Hedges already entrenched behind the plate, the Guardians have given Ingle additional reps in left field and at designated hitter throughout the minor league season, creating a path to playing time that does not require unseating either of Cleveland’s primary catchers. That flexibility, paired with his offensive upside, gives the Guardians another option as they continue to manage a lineup that has dealt with its share of injuries this season.
Cleveland will be hoping Ingle’s bat translates immediately against a Seattle pitching staff that presents a difficult early test. If his recent surge in Columbus carries over, the Guardians may have found another impact bat to lean on as they continue their push to hold the top spot in the AL Central.
