The Cleveland Guardians will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in their latest Cactus League game.
Cleveland hasn’t played that well in spring training to this point.
However, these games are all about identifying emerging talent and getting ready for the regular season.
When it comes to emerging talent, the Guardians have an underrated command-over-stuff pitching prospect who is buried on their impressive depth chart.
Left-hander Ryan Webb is set to make his spring debut as he tries to make the team.
“Cleveland Guardians 25 [year old] LHP prospect Ryan Webb is scheduled to make his spring training debut tonight against the D-Backs,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

Webb has at least 10 pitchers ahead of him in consideration to make the Guardians’ rotation.
However, he will try his best.
All he needs to do is replicate the numbers and the form he had last year.
Of course, it’s easier said than done against MLB-caliber hitters.
Between Double-A and Triple-A, Webb posted a 2.80 ERA in 141.1 innings, with 52 walks and 151 strikeouts.
Webb, despite his dominant campaign in the high minors, wasn’t selected in the Rule 5 Draft after being exposed by Cleveland.
Additionally, he didn’t make this year’s organizational top 30 prospects list put together by MLB Pipeline, after ranking 28th last year.
Likely with a chip on his shoulder, Webb is motivated to have a great season, starting with his spring debut.
