Led by slugger Jose Ramirez, the Cleveland Guardians are surprising a ton of people around the baseball world, as they’ve taken control of first place in the American League Central and look to be running away with it.
The 29-year-old is already over 100 RBI, hitting .284 with 25 home runs and a .901 OPS.
The Guardians extended him earlier this season, keeping him in Cleveland through at least 2028.
Pitcher Cal Quantrill is happy about that, and he’s one of many people who just can’t stop raving about how talented Ramirez truly is, referring to him as a “menace” and saying that the Guardians are lucky to have him.

Quantrill Praises J-Ram
That’s some pretty healthy respect from your teammate.
Ramirez is by far the star of the Guardians and has been leading them during this surprise season.
You can’t blame Quantrill for raving about this guy.
Ramirez is clearly one of the best players in all of baseball and is a top five player.
The Guardians would not be where they are now without his presence in their lineup.
Ever since Francisco Lindor was traded, the Guardians have been relying heavily on Ramirez.
After speculation of a potential trade, the Guardians extended him.
Since then, he has rewarded them for it and is putting up some MVP-type numbers yet again.
Quantrill has now spent a couple of years with Cleveland, which is enough to understand how truly special of a player Ramirez is.
The Guardians are fortunate to have him around for a little while longer.
Trading him would certainly have taken them out of contention before the season began.
But Quantrill is certainly grateful to have him as a teammate, and Ramirez is giving his teammates plenty of reasons to love him.
