The Cleveland Guardians need as much help on offense as they can get.
They also need to add depth to their outfield this offseason.
The answer to both of those concerns might be right in front of them.
Prospect Joe Lampe recently had an RBI triple and an eventual game-winning solo home run for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League.
It was his first home run, and he’s batting .389 with a 1.244 OPS.

Of course, those numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt based on the level of competition, but it’s an encouraging sign nonetheless.
Lampe could be playing his way into a bigger role within the organization, and he might become a potential call-up candidate.
The Guardians can’t pin all of their hopes on him, though, nor do they have to.
With fellow rookies Chase DeLauter, George Valera and C.J. Kayfus expected to have bigger roles in the majors next season, they can wait to see if Lampe will turn out to be the star they need.
The Guardians need veteran sluggers and proven players to bolster their lineup.
They defied the odds when they made the playoffs and won the AL Central this season, though they were eliminated by the Detroit Tigers in the AL Wild Card round.
So, unless they make some moves, that might be as far as they can go with their current roster.
