The Cleveland Guardians made second baseman Travis Bazzana their first No. 1 draft pick in franchise history last year.
They chose the Oregon State infielder above other talented hitters and pitchers and he will try to repay their faith by being the cornerstone of the franchise for years to come.
Bazzana had a positive debut with one of the best minor league teams in the country last year, the Lake County Captains of High-A.
He has been training hard in the off-season to try and make it to the high minors and, possibly, the majors.
However, he stopped for a few hours to visit the headquarters of Marucci Sports, a company that manufactures bats for MLB.
“The Wonder from Down Under is in the house,” the company posted on X referring to the Australian talent.

You can see some pictures of Bazzana admiring the pieces of wood that the company crafts, leaving his signature on the wall, and of course taking some hacks.

For Guardians fans, there aren’t many things more promising and exciting than watching their future face of the franchise taking some swings.
Bazzana has enormous potential as a five-tool contributor in late 2025 or early 2026.
He has contact, power, knowledge of the strike zone, a willingness to take a walk, and off-the-charts intangibles.
The team took one step in solving their organizational infield logjam by trading Andrés Giménez and paving the way for Bazzana to take over the keystone whenever he is ready.
He is someone who will make Cleveland fans very happy soon, very soon.
