The Cleveland Guardians continue to work around the clock to find the best international talent.
According to Guardians Prospective, Cleveland is the favorite to sign center field prospect Axel Reyes.
The native of the Dominican Republic is training at Wilbel Nunez Academy and will be eligible to commit to the organization on the 2027 international signing day.

Of course, a lot can change until then.
From an injury or another team swooping in, this is just an initial outlook.
The Guardians have a long history of finding and developing young international stars, especially pitchers and middle infielders.
They have always had one of the most productive farm systems in baseball.
But after watching the major league team struggle with a lack of power, they might change their approach a bit.
That was evident when Cleveland used its first-round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft on college outfielder Jace LaViolette, who set the career record for home runs by a Texas A&M player, helping it reach the College World Series final.
Maybe Reyes will end up being the hard-hitting outfielder they’ve been seeking for a while now.
Though he needs to clear plenty of hurdles to get to the majors, if he’s signed at all, he could be on his way to a very promising career.
