The Cleveland Guardians have a long history of finding and developing hidden gems.
That will likely be the case for years to come, and they reportedly are in line to sign another coveted young player.
“Cleveland Guardians are favorites to sign switch-hitting (SS) prospect Wilber Reynoso out of La Vega, Dominican Republic. Reynoso trains with Jose Alberto Burdier. He is not eligible to sign until the 1/15/26 International signing day,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

The Guardians have had plenty of success with middle infielders.
As such, it’s hard to envision any organization that would be better for Reynoso.
Also, according to scouting reports, he is unlike most middle infielders, who usually thrive with contact over power.
It will take a while for the Guardians to see Reynoso in the majors, assuming they sign him.
They should be set at second base with Travis Bazzana, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft who will likely make his Cleveland debut next season.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean they should stop looking for other stars.
A lot can happen in any player’s development, and there are countless factors that determine whether a young prospect makes it to the majors, including health.
If things don’t work out for Reynoso, or the Guardians don’t seem to need him, they can always look to trade him to another organization.
