The first day of spring training is a big one for any Cleveland Guardians fan. So is the start of the season on Opening Day.
In between, there’s another significant event, which is the day when single-game tickets for the upcoming season go on sale. That day is today, Feb. 16, which is known as 216 Day to signify the area code for the city and suburbs.
Tickets for the Guardians’ 2026 season are available as of 10 a.m. Eastern time on the team’s official website.
“Starting at 10 a.m. Eastern fans can go to CLEGUARDIANS.com and buy single-game tickets for the entire season,” Austin Controulis of the Guardians said, via John Kosich of News 5 Cleveland.
Of course, the home opener is the most popular event on the calendar, because that’s when fans get to see their team in action in person for the first time. But, planning ahead, the season should be filled with many other memorable games as the Guardians look to win their third consecutive AL Central championship.
“Obviously, the hottest ticket is Opening Day, and that’s April 3 against the Cubs. It’s a Friday, and tickets for Opening Day right now start as low as $45 to get into the ballpark,” Kosich wrote.
The Guardians open the campaign on the road with a six-game western trip against the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers. They then return home to face the Chicago Cubs and the division rival Kansas City Royals. It is part of a difficult stretch that could set the tone for the season.
The Detroit Tigers make their first visit to Progressive Field on June 12-14. The Guardians used a historic rally to overcome the Tigers to win the division last season, but then were defeated by Detroit in the AL Wild Card series.
Cleveland wraps up the home schedule with games against the Chicago White Sox and Athletics from Sept. 16-22. Then, hopefully, the postseason will follow.
There will be several new faces for fans to get accustomed to, led by outfield prospect Chase DeLauter. He did make his MLB debut in a postseason game last season, but now they can see him day after day and gauge his progress over his rookie year.
Another newcomer could be infielder Travis Bazzana. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Bazzana is expected to make his debut after being delayed by injuries last season.
Those are just some of the exciting things fans have to look forward to in the upcoming season.
