The Cleveland Guardians are trying to find a spark that allows them to snap out of their recent funk.
They know that, despite their current 40-40 record, they are good enough to make a push for the postseason.
Status quo, however, was not going to take them anywhere, so they decided to make some notable roster moves in order to shake things up.
“ROSTER MOVES: +Activated C Austin Hedges (#17) from the 7-day IL. +Recalled INF/OF Nolan Jones (#33) from AAA. +Optioned OF Richie Palacios to AAA Columbus. +Designated C Sandy León for assignment,” GuardsInsider tweeted.

Hedges is finally off the concussion injured list after being placed there on June 28.
The Guardians didn’t provide many specifics about his status since then, but he is now ready to return.
Nolan Jones Is Finally Up
Easily the most exciting part of the Guardians’ recent roster moves is the arrival of Nolan Jones.
Jones was a member of the 40-man roster, but he hasn’t made his MLB debut yet.
He will now and he is one of the best prospects in the system.
After hitting 13 homers in Triple-A last year, he has three this year, in 108 plate appearances.
His triple slash line, however, is the most encouraging part of his profile: he is hitting .311/.417/.500 so far.
It remains to be seen where the infielder will play, but third base is his primary position.
Palacios is being sent down after a solid showing in a tough role as a pinch hitter.
The rookie is hitting .250 with six runs, 10 RBI, and a steal.
Leon, a defense-first backup catcher, is being DFA’d to open up a roster spot for the incoming players.
