The Cleveland Guardians have opened their camp and are already training and getting themselves in top shape for the start of the 2024 campaign.
It will be a very important season in Cleveland, as the organization intends to return to the playoffs after their mediocre 2023 performance.
By now, we already know that the home opener on April 8 against the Chicago White Sox will be affected by the total solar eclipse that will take place in the city that day.
That game will start at 5:10 pm ET due to the unique circumstances.
The team, however, will implement more of a permanent, long-term change to their start times.
“A little scheduling twist for the Guardians this season: They’ll have a 6:40pm ET start time for weeknight home games from June-Sept. Still 6:10pm for weeknight home games in April-May, aside from the opener, which is 5:10, once the d— moon gets out of the way,” Guardians insider Zack Meisel tweeted.

Reasons for the modifications weren’t disclosed, but weather and logistics are believed to be among them.
The Guardians want to make sure fans are comfortable in their stadium experience, because they need them to fill the seats at Progressive Field night in and night out.
As currently constructed, the Guardians are candidates to win the AL Central, but not exactly favorites.
They need a couple of additions to their offense, their prospects to pan out and break out, and fans to go to the stadium and support the team.
2024 has the potential to be a big year for the Guardians.
