The Cleveland Guardians will play six games from Wednesday to Sunday, including doubleheaders on Wednesday and Friday.
They were supposed to take the field on Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but the game was postponed and rescheduled to Wednesday as part of a doubleheader that will start at 1:10 pm ET.
The Guardians have had to alter their pitching plans for a busy week, and insider Zack Meisel has all the details.
“Cleveland’s starting pitching plan… Today: Ben Lively & Carlos Carrasco. Friday: Alex Cobb & TBD. Saturday: Gavin Williams. Sunday: TBD (but Tanner Bibee if his bullpen session tomorrow goes well),” he tweeted.

As you can see, the plans have not been finalized.
Ben Lively and Carlos Carrasco will be the pitchers the Guardians will send to take the hill in the important Wednesday doubleheader against the snakes.
They will be facing Brandon Pfaadt and Eduardo Rodriguez, respectively.
Cleveland is off on Thursday, as they will travel to face the Minnesota Twins in a key weekend series.
Trade acquisition Alex Cobb is expected to make his debut that day, and it’s unclear who will pitch the second game of that day’s doubleheader.
It’s worth noting that Triston McKenzie, currently in Triple-A, would be in normal rest.
Gavin Williams will get the assignment on Saturday, and Sunday remains a mystery and depends on Tanner Bibee’s bullpen session.
If there is a problem with Bibee and he can’t start on Sunday, we could see McKenzie (if he doesn’t take the ball on Friday) or Logan Allen.
Cleveland’s elite bullpen will be of great important regardless of who is starting, as the team needs to avoid a sweep and, ideally, at least earn a series split.
