The Cleveland Guardians, when it comes to pitching, are masters of their craft.
They know how to identify, nurture, and develop pitching prospects, as well as acquire quality pitchers in the draft or via trades.
They are quite familiar with the nuances of the position and aren’t afraid to call pitchers up to the majors if they feel they are ready.
In 2023, we saw multiple young starters succeed in their debut seasons in Cleveland.
The team highlighted their vaunted pitching trio of Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams, and Logan Allen.
“The Pitching Factory™ was back in form in 2023 as we saw three rookie pitchers make their debuts and find success at the Big League level. The future looks bright for Big Gav, Tanner, and Lo,” the Guardians tweeted.

Bibee finished second in the AL Rookie of the Year voting, behind Baltimore Orioles star Gunnar Henderson.
The right-hander finished with a cool 2.98 ERA in 142 innings, with 45 walks and 141 strikeouts.
It was his debut season, yet he looked like a veteran every time he took the mound: calm, composed, and letting his talent and the movement of his pitches take over.
Williams was also excellent, with a 3.29 ERA in 16 starts and 82 innings.
Allen, a southpaw, also provided some stability with a 3.81 ERA in 125.1 frames.
The three rookies helped cover for Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie’s prolonged absences and gave some stability to the staff.
They are now one of the most promising “Big 3s” in the American League.
If Bieber is traded, the Guardians can rest easy knowing they have a quality group in place to replace him.
