The Cleveland Guardians are quietly putting forth one of the best seasons across MLB with a 48-26 record and are on another four-game winning streak ahead of a potential sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
The national media and baseball fans around the world may not be taking notice just yet, but Cleveland fans sure are and decided to show up in droves on Saturday for another sellout as the Guardians beat the Jays 6-3.
Not only was it the team’s sixth sellout of the season, but the Guardians’ X account shared that the 37,133 fans in attendance resulted in the team’s largest crowd of the season, narrowly topping the 36,725 who attended the June 1st 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Cleveland currently ranks 22nd in attendance so far this season at 23,616 fans per game, and though the team does have the 2nd-smallest ballpark seating capacity at 34,830, the attendance is a number you’d like to see rise given the team’s success.
The crowds have been getting bigger as the weather has gotten better and as the team continues winning, and hopefully, that trend continues.
Fans in attendance for the record sellout were also treated to a postgame performance by DJ Diesel, more commonly known as NBA Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neal, so it’s possible his presence contributed to such a large ticket number.
Saturdays are generally the days you see the biggest crowds, and next Saturday when the team hosts the San Francisco Giants, perhaps the fans of Cleveland can produce another sellout and top yesterday’s attendance number.
