For the first time in his career, Cleveland Guardians slugger Jose Ramirez will take part in the Home Run Derby.
Ramirez will join stars such as Juan Soto, Pete Alonso, Albert Pujols, Julio Rodriguez, Kyle Schwarber, and Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ramirez has had a solid season at the plate, hitting .285 with 17 home runs and 68 RBI.
The Guardians slugger is the first member of the team to compete in the Home Run Derby since Carlos Santana did it back in 2019, when the Guardians hosted the All-Star festivities.
The Guardians Twitter account posted a photo of Ramirez admiring a home run and put a goat emoji in the caption to celebrate his first Derby appearance.

Ramirez Set For The Derby
This is a big deal for Ramirez and the Guardians.
Ramirez is one of the best power hitters in all of Major League Baseball and has been the star of the team ever since Francisco Lindor was traded away to the New York Mets.
The Guardians and their fans will have something to look forward to when the Derby takes place on July 18.
The Home Run Derby is always fun.
It’s an event where the best power hitters in all of baseball come together and show off their awesome power for the rest of the sports world to see.
It’s a good thing for baseball when we get to see players like Ramirez take their hacks in the event.
Ramirez is one of three All-Stars for the Guardians this year.
He will be joined by Andres Gimenez and Emmanuel Clase.
At the very least, he’ll have two teammates there to support him as he tries to win the Derby in his first ever appearance.
