Things may be changing soon in Cleveland.
Monday morning, the Cleveland Guardians welcomed David Blitzer and his investment group to the organization as the new minority owners of the team.
Guardians Chairman and CEO Paul Dolan released a statement on Monday, welcoming David Blitzer and Partners to the team.
“I am very excited about bringing on David Blitzer and his group as our partners,” Dolan said. “David brings a wealth of experience in the sports industry that we believe will be a complementary addition to our organization.”
Blitzer is also a part-owner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.
The Guardians announced the news via their Twitter account.

Blitzer Joins Guardians
Blitzer holds a wealth of knowledge and experience in sports and should be a welcome addition to the organization.
Perhaps one day, he could take over as the majority owner and ultimately end up spending some big money to help the team improve in the future.
As a part owner of the 76ers, he played a role in the team acquiring James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets.
With Blitzer’s investment group, the Guardians could be big spenders at some point down the road.
The club currently sits three games behind the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central division.
It is possible that with Blitzer’s investment group, he and majority owner Paul Dolan could work together to make some key trades at the trade deadline in order to put the Guardians in a position to potentially challenge the Twins for the top spot.
We’ll see how it ultimately pans out.
Blitzer’s experience and knowledge should be beneficial for the organization.
