The Cleveland Guardians could certainly use some help right now. Their offense was one of the worst in all of baseball last season, and even though they still made the playoffs, their offensive woes were just too much to overcome when it mattered most. That’s why, now that Teoscar Hernandez might be available, the Guardians should pick up the phone.
As pointed out by Sleeper Guardians on X, he’d be a solid pickup for this team:
“Teoscar Hernandez’s name has been floating around in trade talks, per [MLB Trade Rumors]. Should the Guardians make a splash?” Sleeper Guardians posted on X.
Of course, Dave Roberts and the Los Angeles Dodgers already claimed that they weren’t interested in trading their World Series-winning outfielder. That being said, they wouldn’t probably say they’d want to move him if that was the case.
We’ve heard that type of story way too many times in the past, just for the team to end up parting ways with the player. The Dodgers are absolutely stacked in every position and will most likely keep on adding talent, and that could make Hernandez the odd man out.
Also, rumors state that the reigning World Series winners are keeping tabs on Steven Kwan. Needless to say, he’s a better player than Hernandez, but if they’re interested in his services, they might throw in their Silver Slugger as a filler.
The Guardians desperately need to add more firepower to that lineup. That’s the only thing legitimately holding this team back from World Series consideration.
And if Hernandez is available at the right price, he’d certainly be more than worth a look ahead of the upcoming season.
