Last week, if you recall correctly, Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez had to leave a game and miss another with a right wrist sprain.
It’s safe to say the injury is behind him, though.
With the entire Guardians offense struggling to score runs this week, Ramirez took over and willed his team to victory on Friday night, hitting a whopping three home runs to propel an 8-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels in LA.
He put on a show and it was a joy to watch.
They weren’t cheapies, either: each drive went 406, 415, and 428 feet into the Los Angeles night.

J-Ram is now hitting a cool .381/.440/.1.048 with four homers.
Perhaps this is the year in which it all comes together for him, he reaches the 40-40 threshold and wins MVP.
There are plenty of talented men in the American League willing to ruin Ramirez’s dream, but who are we to doubt this man?
Ramirez had a solid partner in Brayan Rocchio, who went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
The offense and the bullpen showed up to pick up an uncharacteristically wild Gavin Williams, who allowed four runs (two earned) and walked three in three innings pitched, with five hits and five punchouts.
His two unearned runs in the fourth scored when a Ramirez error extended the inning.
Good thing he owned up to his mistake and made up for it, huh?
The hope is that Ramirez’s outburst helps the Guardians wake up and start producing more consistently.
It was marvelous to watch the team star take over when things were going south and show his teammates how it’s done.
