The Cleveland Guardians accumulated their third consecutive loss against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, dropping the third contest of the four-game set with a 3-1 score.
Triston McKenzie pitched a solid game, but the Guardians offense is having its toughest stretch of the season at the moment.
The White Sox, with a 12-28 record as of Sunday afternoon, are the worst team in the American League.
They have a bottom-five ERA, yet they have held Cleveland to just six runs in the first three games of the weekend series.
That output speaks volumes about the Guardians’ current offensive form.
The two teams will take the field on Sunday at 2:10 pm ET: a White Sox win will secure a sweep for them.
For reference, the Guardians still haven’t been swept this season; and they haven’t lost four straight games to this point.
Guardians of The Land finds the three straight defeats at the hands of the White Sox very tough to swallow.
“Losing 3 straight to the White Sox is unacceptable for this team. Figure it out,” they tweeted.

In reality, it’s hard to win or produce much when just two or three hitters in the lineup are performing well.
Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor are the ones who have been consistently good in recent games.
Steven Kwan also belongs to that group but he is out with an injury.
Even Andres Gimenez (.650 OPS for the season) has struggled, not to mention Brayan Rocchio, Tyler Freeman, Gabriel Arias, Estevan Florial, Ramon Laureano and Bo Naylor.
Not a single player of that last group is even near a .700 OPS.
The Guardians might have some solutions in the high minors (Daniel Schneemann an Jhonkensy Noel come to mind), but the problem is widespread and needs immediate solutions.
