The Cleveland Guardians continue to add firepower to their ranks. They’re always on the lookout for more talent all over the world, especially in South America and the Caribbean.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that they’re currently leading the race to land another top-tier prospect. According to Guardians Prospective, they’ve set their sights on RHP prospect Anthony Carela.
Carela is a native of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic.
He’s currently training at Edinson Volquez Academy with Kelvin Jimenez and won’t be eligible to put pen to paper until the 1/15/26 International signing day.

The Guardians have always hung their hat on their ability to find and develop young players. That’s especially true when it comes to hurlers, as they have one of the best pitching development staffs in all of baseball.
As such, players like Carela will certainly rather join a team like the Guardians over other big-market clubs, knowing that they will prioritize their development and will take pride in making sure they achieve their true potential. They don’t spend a lot of money in free agency, so they know that their clearer path to contention will come through their farm system.
Of course, there are countless factors that can have an impact on a player’s career and development. From health to luck to motivation and work ethic, a lot can go sideways here.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case with Anthony Carela, and this will be just the beginning of a long and successful career.
