The Cleveland Guardians appear to have their starter lined up for Monday’s spring training matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
According to Mason Horodyski, the Guardians’ probable starter for Monday’s game is right-hander Tanner Bibee.

Bibee has quickly become one of the most important arms in Cleveland’s rotation. The 26-year-old has already established himself at the major league level and continues to build on a strong start to his career.
Last season, Bibee logged over 180 innings while posting a 4.24 ERA and striking out 162 batters. He has demonstrated the ability to work deep into games and limit hard contact when he is commanding his fastball and secondary pitches. His combination of velocity and pitch mix gives the Guardians a reliable option every fifth day.
His steady production has helped stabilize a rotation that has dealt with injuries and roster turnover in recent seasons.
Monday’s outing will give Bibee another opportunity to fine-tune his command and build up his pitch count as the regular season approaches. For a Guardians team that leans heavily on strong starting pitching, having Bibee on track and healthy is a significant positive.
If he continues progressing this spring, Cleveland will feel confident handing him the ball early and often once the games begin to count.
