The Cleveland Guardians won their series opener against the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 on Tuesday.
It was their seventh victory in the last ten games, proof that this team is starting to surge.
Besides the dominant performances of Logan Allen, Angel Martinez, and even Emmanuel Clase (yes, he got a save and tossed a scoreless frame), the man of the night was Steven Kwan.
The All-Star outfielder went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI.
The highlight was a two-run homer in the top of the fifth frame against Charlie Morton.
Oh, yes, in case you have been missing the last few Guardians games, Kwan is a power threat now.
It was his third homer of the season, tied with Gabriel Arias for the third-most on the Guardians behind Kyle Manzardo and Jose Ramirez, both with four.
We have already discussed how Kwan mashes inside pitches.
Morton, apparently, did not get the memo:

Another inside pitch, another home run for Kwan who is now slugging a cool .492 with a .333 batting average.
Kwan looks well on his way to establishing a new career-high in homers, surpassing the 14 he logged last year in 122 games.
He currently projects around 30.
Asking him to hit that many could be too much, but he looks destined to reach at least 20 unless pitchers make significant adjustments and stop pitching him inside altogether.
He is so good that he could find a way to adjust back if that’s the case, though.
An offensive star with some added power now, Kwan is a truly complete player considering his excellent contact skills, defense, and baserunning.
That potential extension is looking more expensive by the day.
