Back on November 20, 2024, the Cleveland Guardians added four players to their 40-man roster to protect them from being picked in the Rule 5 Draft: Petey Halpin, Doug Nikhazy, Franco Aleman, and Nic Enright.
The first three were ranked as top 30 prospects in the organization, but Enright wasn’t.
As it turns out, he might enjoy the most prominent role on the 2025 Guardians among those players.
Enright had been on the injured list at Triple-A, rehabbing from a lat strain since the start of the season.
He is now ready for live game action and was activated off the 7-day injured list on Friday.
“Cleveland #Guardians minor league transactions. RHP Nic Enright activated off the 7-day IL at Columbus. INF Juan Brito placed on the 7-day IL at Columbus (surgery sprained ligament right hand),” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

He is replacing Brito on the Columbus Clippers roster.
Enright had to rehab a significant injury, but he is finally ready to start working his way up to the major leagues.
Had he avoided the injury, he would likely have made his MLB debut by now.
He has had to wait for his chance.
That opportunity is coming soon if he is able to shake off the rust in Triple-A for a few weeks.
Enright, 28, posted a phenomenal 1.06 ERA in 17 Triple-A frames last year.
The most impressive part of his statistical profile is his strikeouts.
He punched out a mind-boggling 31 hitters over those 17 innings, against just five walks.
Enright is a fastball-slider guy, mixing in some curveballs and changeups.
His stuff is incredible, and he has overcome a lot to get to where he is.
Poised and determined, Enright looks like he will be a 2025 contributor in Cleveland.
