Shane Bieber might or might not be traded this offseason.
It has been an ongoing saga for the Cleveland Guardians for months, with no ending in sight.
We have seen all kinds of reports, the most recent one stating that it’s highly unlikely the pitcher is flipped at this point.
But the chances of a trade happening are still far from zero: he will make more than $13 million, he hasn’t and likely won’t sign an extension, and he had his worst season in recent memory in 2023, showing arm issues and diminished velocity.
His future in Cleveland is murky, at best, and everybody knows it.
Even if the Guardians are prepared to enter the season with Bieber in their rotation, they surely would prefer to trade him for a bat, or for prospects.
Keeping that in mind, Bleacher Report’s Brandon Scott published his list of 10 potential landing spots for the 2020 AL Cy Young award winner.

The New York Yankees top the list, as there is a feeling they aren’t done adding to their rotation following Marcus Stroman’s signing.
Then we have the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are in a similar position as the Yankees: they already brought in some pitchers, but could use another one for extra depth.
The Chicago Cubs just added Shota Imanaga but it wouldn’t hurt them to add Bieber and they have a phenomenal farm system to use in trades.
The Boston Red Sox come in fourth place, and they have more of an urgency to add pitchers.
If Cleveland wants to get something done, they will surely be able to.
