The 27-year-old outfielder was hitting just .213 with nine home runs and 29 RBI, while posting a less than stellar .602 OPS.
Shortly after being let go by the Guardians, the Chicago Cubs took a flyer on Reyes, claiming him off of waivers.
Yesterday, Reyes commented on his time in Cleveland and had nothing but nice things to say about the Guardians organization.
He thanked them for the opportunity and even went as far as to say that Chris Antonetti was “like a father” to him.
Franmil Reyes on the #Guardians organization: "I'm very thankful for the organization, everything they've done for me and my family, I cannot say bad things. I love all of them, Chris Antonetti was like a father to me."

Reyes Thanks Cleveland
Clearly, it was tough for Reyes to find out that the Guardians had let him go.
But it’s nice to see him show gratitude for the opportunities he had in Cleveland.
It’s clear that he thoroughly enjoyed his time as a member of the Guardians and felt at home with the organization.
It’s always hard for a player to say goodbye to an organization and team he’s known and loved for a long time.
Reyes enjoyed being a part of the Guardians and clearly appreciates all they have done for him and his family.
For him to say that Antonetti was like a father to him is also very important, as it goes to show just how much he enjoyed Cleveland.
Reyes is now set for another chapter in his career with the Cubs.
He could potentially be a veteran voice in the clubhouse for a team that is stacked with young, up-and-coming players.
